Southern Middle School Walk A Thon

Supporting Samantha Funding The Arts

Each Spring Southern Middle School 8th Grade Students have participated in a community service project. For the past few years they have held a Walk A Thon and chosen Samantha Funding The Arts as the beneficiary of the proceeds! We are so grateful to the Staff & Students for their continued support! It is because of this that we can continue to fund the Arts in our schools & community! Most recently we were able to give a grant to Southern Middle School to provide transportation for 300 students to go see a production of Singing In The Rain at Potomac State College!

At the event students walk around the school for an hour and at the end of the Walk A Thon, June McClosky (Samanatha’s Mom) speaks to the students, telling them Sam’s Story (which includes the drunk driving accident that took her life) and all about what we have done in her memory through Samantha Funding The Arts!
